2008 Tour for Kids

It’s that time of year again and we are getting ready for the Tour for Kids. For the past 4 years, I have been lucky to have been involved with such a great group of organizers and cyclists. Some cyclists ride upwards of over 200 km per day in support of cancer for kids. The mission of Tour For Kids is to raise funds for three extraordinary camps that allow children with cancer to share laughter and build friendships with other brave kids from across Canada. In just 4 years, Tour For Kids participants have helped raise $2.5 million for local camps.

At the end of their long days cycling, they need support and this is where we come in. Every year, the riders say we are the best part of the whole ride, and are incredibly appreciative of the medical team at the finish of each day.

We are looking for some A.T.’s and R.M.T.’s to help out with this epic ride throughout Ontario. At the end of the day, we would be required to massage and treat the riders as required. We usually start at about 3:30 and work till about 9ish. You will be fed very well and have breaks as required.

The dates and locations are as follows:

Day1: Thursday August 14th KOA camp, Gravenhurst, Muskoka
Day 2: Friday August 15th Camp Northland, Haliburton
Day 3: Saturday August 16th Trent University in Peterborough
Day 4: Sunday August 17th Finish: Mississauga Civic Centre

Pay: $150 per day

You can do 1,2, 3 or all 4 days, depending how much you would like to do. If you are doing more than one, accommodations are provided, except for the first night where you would need a tent. You can drive your own vehicle, or there should be enough to be able to transfer you from location to location. If you live close to one of these stops you are more than welcome to do just one day, the riders would appreciate any help possible.

If you are interested in helping out, or would just some more information, please let me know ASAP, as we only have one month to get everybody organized.

Thank you in advance for your help!!

Cheers,
