Ontario Graduate Degrees

There are apparently some issues with Ontario Universities accepting the BAHSc(Athletic Therapy) degree for acceptance into post-graduate programs. If you are a student who is applying to Ontario Universities and are experiencing this obstacle you can now submit to the program coordinator your issues and he will forward it to the Dean who will then request a letter from the President asking for recognition of your degree.

Are you a STAR?

This year’s Discover Sheridan will be held on Saturday, March 29th. In anticipation of that event I am contacting you regarding recruiting students for Sheridan's STARS Program.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the STARS Program, we hire students to:

- work at on and off campus events as ambassadors for their programs
- answer information requests from prospective students
- staff the campus tour office

The STARS are an integral part of our recruitment efforts and it is very important that we get outgoing students with high academic achievement in order to showcase the best of what Sheridan has to offer prospective students.

How can you help?

If you already have a student (or students) that you would like to represent your program as a Sheridan STAR please ask them to see me in Room B234 (next to Financial Aid) any time between now and Friday, February 1st.

If you would like all of your students to have the opportunity to apply for the STARS position, I am available to come into classes any time between now and February 1st to give a short (approx. 3 minutes) presentation on the STARS Program and to encourage your students to apply.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your support!

Coverage Needed

I need a therapist to be on site for our intramural hockey league. I had Rachael Howsen but unfortunately she is no longer in school. The league runs on Monday nights from 10pm to 11pm at Maple Grove Arena, and Thursday night from 10pm to 12pm at Oakville Arena. The wage is $15/hour.

In addition, this coming Saturday (Jan.19/08) our Men's Extramural hockey team is going to be running a fundraiser ball hockey tournament in the parking lot of the gym. I would like to have a therapist present for this event as well, which will probably start around 12 or 1pm and run to 6 or 7pm, depending on the number of teams that show up. Again, $15/hour will be the wage.

If anyone is interested in either one of these opportunities please have them contact me either at chad.blundy@sheridanc.on.ca or at ext.2086, or they can come talk to me in the gym.

Thanks

Chad
