Ride to Conquer Cancer
Dear Friends Family and Colleagues,
I just wanted to remind everyone that I have signed up to participate in the 2010 “Ride to Conquer Cancer”!! I committed to a two day, 250 kilometer bike ride from Vancouver to Seattle on JUNE 19th- 20th 2010, and to raise a minimum $2,500 to benefit the BC Cancer Foundation. I want to thank everyone who has already supported me. I can't believe how generous so many of you have been. Of course, I still need everyone's support.
I am training hard, and up to 115km on Saturdays, and 40-50 km four nights a week.
I have already raised $2,055!!! I know I am only required to raise $2,500 but I want to do more, so I'm actually aiming to raise $3,000 by the event weekend, so I still have a way to go. Now that the event is getting close, I am trying to get my final required $445 in so that I can pre-register for the event.
Please, if you're thinking of making a donation, make it now. The money is used by the BC Cancer Foundation as soon as we raise it, not after the event happens. Plus, I don't want to worry that I won't meet my goals!
And everyone can support me (even if you already have) by sending out my requests to all of your friends, family and coworkers. Think about it. Over 45% of men and 40% of women will develop cancer in their lifetime and 1 in 4 of all Canadians will die of cancer. It's a huge problem, and we need to do something about it.
We have all been negatively impacted in some way by this devastating disease; whether it be friends, family or you yourself who have battled this severe illness, it’s time to fight back! By making a donation, your dollars are used for prevention, screening and early detection, diagnosis, treatment and care, patient and family support services, rehabilitation, and end-of-life care. Also, The BC Cancer Agency's ability to conduct innovative, creative research is very much dependent on donor philanthropy, through donor support of researchers and research programs.
To make a donation, follow the link below to the ‘RTCC’ Home Page. Click on ‘Donate Now’ (highlighted in green) and follow the prompts to search for my name, Scott Marchant, and make a pledge.

Scott Marchant
