Dragon Boat Coverage
As the captain of Sheridan's Dragon Boat team, I'm wondering if there is a student that would like to be our trainer.
Here are our practice times. We meet at the Mississauga Canoe Club in Port Credit.
1- Wednesday, May 7th - 6PM
2 - Wednesday, May 14th, 6PM
3 - Wednesday May 21st - 6PM
4 - Wednesday, May 28th - 6PM
5 - Monday, June 2nd - 6PM
6 - Wednesday, June 4th - 6PM
7 - Wednesday, June 11th - 6PM
8- Sunday, June 15th - race day - 7:30 AM-3:30 ish
At this time we could have 2 boats, that would be approximately 50 paddlers. We traditionally have a wide age range - early 20s to retirement, a range of fitness levels, males & females, and it's not a competitive team, just a fun team.
I thought a trainer may be a nice addition as people don't tend to stretch - before or after our practices, and then end up with a variety of aches and pains. Apparently Dragon Boating is particularly hard on the Rotator Cuff (my current ailment), so it would be useful to have someone lead us through some basic stretches etc.
Also, I have started a Wiki for the team, where we can post information, pictures, etc. I started to post some training tips, but I'm really not sure whether I've picked up good information from the internet or not. So our trainer would be expected to help out on that section of the site.
So let me know if you have anyone that might be interested. Thanks
