Trinity College School (TCS) is a leading co-educational boarding and day school for approximately 600 young people from grades 5-12. The School is situated on a beautiful 100 acre campus located in the town of Port Hope, Ontario, one hour’s drive east of Toronto. Certified Athletic Therapist
9 month contract position, commencing April 6th, 2010
Responsibilities include assisting the Head Athletic Therapist with the following:
• daily operation of the TCS Sports Injury Clinic including assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries of TCS students, faculty and staff
• athletic event field coverage on a regular basis, including weekends, for school wide athletics programme
• working closely with the TCS Health Centre nursing staff and school doctor
• regular communication with coaches, parents, housemasters, health centre nursing staff and athletic director with regards to student injuries
• maintenance of patient files for all injuries requiring medical attention
• assistance with the scheduling of daily appointments; supervision of clinic stewards; maintenance of clinic inventory
• providing emergency care for visiting teams without an athletic therapist
• annual Faculty First Aid and CPR training session
Education and Experience:
• must be CATA certified
• relevant post secondary degree or diploma
• previous clinical and field experience at a Canadian independent school is an asset
Candidate Must:
• be currently certified in CPR, First Aid and Sports First Responder
• have excellent communication skills; be able to work well with the adolescent population
• have full and working knowledge of assessment and rehabilitation techniques, modality application, emergency care and taping techniques
• be dependable, accountable, flexible and organized
