Oxfam Trail Walk
Oxfam Trail Walk.
There are few of us who are interested in volunteering for medical coverage. I know that there are a few 4th years that volunteered last year and had a great time. The location of the walk is close to my family farm. It is my plan to invite any Sheridan students wanting to volunteer for this weekend to come up to the farm for a BBQ and bonfire one night and then carpool to the volunteer site the next day. Depending on numbers and the length of shifts, suitable arrangements can be made. Please let me know if you are interested and we can organize a team- meaghan.maynard@hotmail.com.
Most of the ‘medical coverage’ involves dealing with blisters and the occasional ankle sprain. Light work for a great cause. I have volunteer registration forms and further information for those interested.
Oxfam Trailwalker Canada will take place on the weekend of July 23rd to July 25th, 2010 on the Ganaraska Hiking Trail. The challenge is to complete 100km in 48 hours as a team of 4. Each team must start together, stick together and finish together. The event is not just physically demanding, but it is also a fundraising challenge. When you register, your team commits to raising at least $2,500 and all proceeds go towards Oxfam Canada’s efforts in making a difference in the lives of women and girls, men and boys living in poverty. www.oxfamtrailwalker.ca
