Wellness Coordinator – Join a Championship Team



Are you a Certified Athletic Therapist with an entrepreneurial spirit? Would you like to run your own show while having the support of an institution rich in tradition to back you up? If so, then consider the Wellness Coordinator position at St. Paul’s High School.



The Wellness Coordinator position (the only one of its kind in a Western Canada) is a role that would provide an individual a diverse experience in Athletic Therapy, Strength & Conditioning, and Instructing in an Educational Setting. You will set the tone at the school with the student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and teams when it comes to all areas of wellness. You will be a key contributor to the on-field/on-court success of our student-athletes; a number of which go on to compete in their sports at the next level.



What You Will Do:

* Assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries for students/staff/alumni and outside patients
* Training and conditioning for various teams throughout the school year
* Individual and small group training sessions
* Personalized program design and implementation
* Personalized nutritional program design and implementation
* Weight room orientations and supervision approx. 10 hours per week
* Coordination of medical supplies for various sports teams throughout the school year
* On-site medical services (eg. Sports day, injuries in gym class etc.)
* Coordination of medical appointments for those students in need of seeing doctor prior to returning to activity (doctor affiliated with St. Paul’s, will come to the school if needed)
* Coordination and supervision of certification candidates working with various school sport teams
* On occasion, may be asked to give presentations to groups of students on various topics
* Communication with Director of Athletics regarding weight room facility and equipment maintenance, purchasing of new equipment when required
* Communication with administration regarding health and safety issues
* Liaise with coaches regarding student athlete involvement in games and/or practices



Must Haves:

§ Certified Athletic Therapist in good standing with the CATA and MATA. Certification Candidates attempting the June exam are encouraged to apply with the provision of passing the exam.

§ Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist or equivalent.

§ A self-starting, entrepreneurial spirit combined with a positive, “can do” attitude.



St. Paul’s High School is equipped with an Athletic Therapy clinic, gym, weight room, and quality field space…all the things you need to run an excellent sports and wellness program.
