Job Posting at Sheridan College

Under the direction of the Associate Dean and AT Technologist, the Assistant Athletic Therapy Centre Technologist is responsible for assisting in the development and ongoing management and administration of the daily activities and tasks performed in the ATC and works closely with the Program Coordinator and other faculty. The hours for this position are dependent on when the Athletic Therapy clinic is open. The assistant technologist will work under the supervision of the Clinic Technologist to provide reinforcement, technical support, and guidance to students and faculty in the AT Centre and its associated activities around the college and the surrounding community.



Specific responsibilities include:



* Ensuring the safety of all students, faculty, staff, community clients while in the Centre;
* Assist in overseeing student activities in the clinic and training students on appropriate clinical protocols as part of their SIC course requirements;
* Perform clinic administration duties including invoicing and reconciliation of clients during clinic hours;
* Assist in Analyzing, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining lab/clinic equipment and help arrange for appropriate service;
* Assist in organizing inventory of all supplies and equipment in the Centre;
* Assist in promoting and marketing the clinic within the college and surrounding community;
* Assist in representing the AT program at various outside and college functions;
* Assist in the supervision of students and ensuring that clinic policies and procedures are adhered to
* Other duties as assigned





Qualifications:



The successful candidate will have at least a 2 year diploma in AT, SIM, or BAHSc (AT). He/she will also be a CATA member in good standing, have First AID CPR level C-HCP certifications. The incumbent must have a minimum of 2 years experience as an AT in a clinical setting. Supervisory experience is preferred as is experience in an educational institution. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to work with a diverse client and colleague base including students, faculty, and customers from the surrounding community. He/she must thrive on providing guidance and assistance to student learners with an additional focus on ensuring safe and healthy facilities for all users of the Centres.



Assistant Clinical Director – Sheridan College

The Sheridan Athletic Therapy Centre is seeking applications for a Certified Athletic Therapist to assist in caregiver oversight and general operations through the Fall semester of 2009 for its new Brampton campus facility. This is a part-time, contractual position that will run from August 2009-December 2009 for 24 hours per week at a pay rate dependent upon experience.



Job duties will include:

* Provide feedback to all primary and assistant caregivers regarding the assessment and treatment plans provided during clinic hours;

* Follow up with all voice messages left by clients during clinic hours;
* Supervise and support students in the assessment and treatment of clients and record keeping in the Sheridan Athletic Therapy Centre;
* Complete clinic administration duties including invoicing and reconciliations of clients during clinic hours;
* Promote and market the clinic within the Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning and the community.
